depth of field excersise
So, the depth of field practice went well. I made two practice compositions. One was based on a photo I had of my hand next to a plaster mold of my hand when I was five. The focus shifts from the bigger hand in the foreground to the smaller one in the back, then the background. Then I made one of a space shuttle that zooms out to a photoshopped image of the space-obsessed robot character from Portal 2 as an astronaut. Overall I'm alright with how they came out, and I have a better understanding of how to use After Effects, which is of course always helpful.

Waiting for Gilgamesh
I found Waiting for Gilgamesh to be an interesting look into the mindsets of certain Iraqi groups and the political and sociological strife from the perspective of the Iraqis. A lot of debate and discussion about the hypocracy of radical and violent religious groups and the arrogance of America trying to "fix" the situation but only exacerbating it take place here, and it's interesting and informative to see these takes on it.
